Violin

Graded Exams

This is an individual class lasting 30-45 mins per lesson and held once a week. This course is open to students of all ages who wish to take graded exams. The syllabus will focus on exam pieces, scales & arpeggios, sight-reading, and aural tests as required by the ABRSM, London College of Music, or Trinity Guildhall exam boards. Exam certification is very important as in many countries, it is a pre-requisite for registration as a teacher.

Leisure Playing

This is an individual class lasting 30-45 mins per lesson and held once a week. This course is open to students of all ages and focuses on playing of pieces. The objective is to give the student a chance to learn how to play their favorite pieces and to see if violin is their calling. There is no exam-like syllabus nor is there any time pressure to reach a certain level of proficiency by a certain time but students will be given pieces of increasing difficulty as they mature in playing ability. The course is a refreshing change and many students find that it is a highly motivating supplement to a graded exam syllabus.
