This course instructs you in the performance of music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary periods. It also covers the traditional areas of musicality like sight-reading, aural, technical exercises, and theory of music. You can opt to take graded and diploma examinations from the ABRSM or London College of Music exam boards held periodically. The syllabus focuses on what is required in the exams and also includes technical exercises that prepares the student for exams.

The demands of learning classical music can be quite taxing and substantial time needs to be devoted to independent practice at home. Learning to read notes starts as early as possible and is developed gradually into an essential skill for future higher levels.

While this course is open to all ages, most adults will typically tend to take longer to reach the normal milestones because their heavy family and work commitments limit the amount of time they have for practice. Nevertheless, those who could afford the time us in the past have done well.
